Why the Name?: The Hero's Library

Some of you may have wondered, "Where'd the name come from? What is 'The Hero's Library' supposed to mean?" Well, for years now I have had a strong belief that we are all more than we give ourselves credit for. I believe that within each and every one of us is something incredible, unique, and powerful; something meant to change the world. Unfortunately, not all of us know that yet, which is why I created The Hero's Library, in the hopes that I could help uplift others and open their minds to who they truly are.
As far as the "Hero" portion of the name, this was inspired by the book The Hero With a Thousand Faces written by Joseph Campbell. Within this book he outlines something known as "The Hero's Journey," which is a path that all people must walk in order to become their highest self, or in other words, a hero. He says that each of us in our own lives will receive a "call to adventure", something that tells us we are so much more than the life we are living. Most often people will reject the call after a short time and revert to the monotony of everyday life, but those who accept it (which, might I add, is a continual process) will eventually become a "hero." This is someone who will leave their mark on the earth for the better.
I won't spoil all the details for you. Get yourself a copy and dive headfirst in. There is a lot of information in there to contemplate and digest, so don't feel like you have to rush through it. If nothing else, it's just kind of fun to look at what he's laid out to try and determine where you may be on your path to becoming a hero.
As for the "Library" portion, it's pretty self explanatory. I want this to be a collection/compilation of beautiful books and teachings. A place where people can go to find insight and inspiration to propel them on their path to self-discovery. One of my greatest desires in life is to be able to help my fellow man attain happiness through discovering their purpose. If I can leave behind a collection and a legacy that will benefit the world for generations, why would I aim for anything less?
Well, there you have it. I hope that sheds at least a little light on what it is I'm hoping for here and why it is that I've chosen this name. Thanks for reading, and as always, if you have any questions, suggestions, or insight, feel free to reach out!
